What is Hokie Camp?
Hokie Camp welcomes the freshmen class to Virginia Tech with the purpose of giving them an opportunity to have fun, make friends and learn more about life at Virginia Tech. Through Hokie Camp, students will begin finding their place in the Hokie Family before classes even begin!
Hokie Camp is a two-day orientation supplementation program that will take place on August 11-12, 2008 at the Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center. Students will ride buses from the Virginia Tech campus to the 4-H center where they will stay in air-conditioned, furnished cabins.
What do you do at Hokie Camp?
Freshmen will be split into 25 small groups of about 14 and lead by 2 Hokie Camp Counselors. Each camp will share a special bond as students spend time getting to know one another, attending programs that highlight the opportunities and services available on campus and participating in Hokie traditions such as Hokies Respect, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), and the class system.
How much does Hokie Camp cost?
Hokie Camp costs $150. This price covers travel from Virginia Tech to Hokie Camp, food and lodging at the Smith Mountain Lake 4-H center and a Hokie camp t-shirt.
